Pedestal mounts -- $12 per inch
Pedestal mounts feature your fish mounted on both sides, competition style, with a custom driftwood/rock scene mounted on top of a high gloss wooden panel.
Skin mounts
These are the traditional fish mounts. They involve taking your trophy fish, skinning it carefully and completely, stretching the skin over a form of the exact size and dimensions of the fish. To accomplish that, I typically carve my own forms rather than use factory forms.
The fish mount is then air-brushed and hand-painted to match the individual markings that make your trophy so distinctive. If you take a good photo of the fish, that will help insure accuracy of the color scheme.
If you plan to do a skin mount, make sure you follow proper field care guidelines. We can fix problems that develop like scales that are lost, fins that are split, scars on the fish, but it makes the task of accurately portraying your catch more difficult and we may have to charge extra.
Fiberglass reproductions
These are the mounts of choice for the catch-and-release fisherman and look every bit as beautiful and accurate as a skin mount. When it's done, you won't be able to tell the difference between a reproduction mount and a traditional skin mount. But the good part is that you released your trophy fish to be caught by others -- or maybe even you when it grows a little bigger.
Here's all you need to do:
- Measure complete length of fish from the tip of the snout to the end of the tail
- Measure fish from back of the head to the base of the tail
- Measure girth of fish at its widest point
- Take a good photo of the fish so I can match the color scheme and markings.
